I have always supported the Fiase people, but this time around it is unfortunate we did not have any candidates from Fiase.
Joe: Why do you say so?
Dr Abyna Rose: The majority of the positions in Mpohor NDC Constituency are all occupied by candidates from Mpohor, and the chairman position has also been the hallmark of the Fiase people. When we lost our chairman (may his soul rest in peace) who happens to come from Fiase; I was expecting a candidate from Fiase for the Chairmanship position as a form of consolation since Mpohor already has most of the positions. So, for me! I have always wanted that position for Fiase people.
Joe:
Fiase people have been occupying this position, yet none of them was able to break barriers for the party. We now have a candidate from Mpohor who wants to break barriers for the party; don’t you think it is good we try somebody from Mpohor since candidates from Fiase have not yielded any results so far?
Dr. Abyna Rose: Okay, if there’s no candidate from Fiase for the chairmanship position and it has to be chosen from Mpohor, then; the chairman we already know has been the chairman for only one year, and we cannot access him based on that. So, it wouldn’t be bad if we try chairman Raymond for four years.
Joe:
Do you believe everybody should be given the opportunity for the chairmanship position once they qualify, no matter their geo-location in the district? Or do you support the norms that; the person has to be a native of Fiase?
Dr Abyna Rose: I am one of the few people who advocated for someone from Fiase and was disqualified, but it doesn’t mean anyone who qualifies and is not from Fiase should be denied.
Joe: Chairman Raymond or Chairman Bentsil?
Dr. Abyna Rose: I don’t support any of them.
