The Origin of Democracy
If we can understand politics today and become leaders, – which is Gods’ purpose for a man, (Gen-1:26) then, the origin of Democracy should be known.
It is my responsibility to make sure you don’t acquire only knowledge, but knowledge of the truth. This is why the ideology, “knowledge is power” is not necessarily true.
The Romans believed; they were gods’ chosen people to rule the world. Of course, the Romans believed in many gods.
When the Roman Empire was defeated, it was not defeated by an army, it was defeated by what destroyed most countries. The Roman Empire was destroyed by immorality.
History teaches that the Roman Empire was destroyed by the loins of its leaders. The loin is simply the region of the sexual organs regarded as the source of erotic(sensual) or procreative power (definition from Oxford Languages).
In simple words, their sexual life destroyed them. They died from the inside. They slept with boys, not women. They fell in love with their lust, to the point that they became so immoral, that they began to have men marrying men, – it is as old as 2000yrs ago.
My point is that when a country begins to embrace immorality, its demise (death) is on the way. When a country begins to authorize immoral acts, that God condemned, don’t worry about the country, they are dying. No matter how powerful your guns and military weapons are- if your immorality becomes cancer, your weapons become useless. Rome died in the bedroom. And so, the Roman Empire fell apart.
When the Roman Empire fell apart, it broke up into small little kingdoms. It used to be one kingdom, but it became many kingdoms. Let me name some of the kingdoms the Roman Empire became;
There was a kingdom called Franco– we call it France, today. It was a Roman kingdom. The second kingdom was Hispania (Hispania, -spein; Latin), we call it Spain, today. It’s a Roman kingdom.
Another kingdom is what we call today, the Portuguese. It was a Roman kingdom.
Another kingdom that came from Rome was Anglo Britannia, – we call them England, today. Anglo; means light skin.
The truth is, all of these countries have Roman philosophy. And where did the Romans get their philosophies from? The Geeks.
This brings us back to the first part of this paper (The Roman and Democracy I); a few were said about the Greeks, and you can visit the link, to read the first part of this paper, which I strongly recommend. Because, I’m sure we don’t read for fun, but we read to understand. So, it is impossible to understand part two of this paper (The Romans and Democracy II), if you haven’t read part one. But for the sake of those who still want to save time;
The Greeks were the most influential philosophers in modern world history. The Greeks were the ones who invented the philosophy of leadership that controls our world today. The Roman Empire adopted Greek philosophy when they invaded the Greeks. The Romans were so powerful that they conquered the Greeks, and destroyed the Greek Empire, but they did not destroy the Geeks’ libraries. The Romans are smart people, they took the Greeks’ libraries and adopted the Greeks ideas and philosophies of leadership. And so, the Romans became Greeks in thinking, but Romans in military power.
The Greeks believed certain things about humanity and leadership. The Greeks invented the idea of Democracy (Demokratia), which means the power of the people. Democracy is not from the Bible, it is from Greece. The Greeks developed the idea of what they call “politics”. Politics came from the Greeks, which means chief citizen. It’s where we get our word “politician” from. A politician, the Greek says; is a person that the people gave their authority to, and made them chief citizens over them.
The Romans adopted the idea from the Greeks that leadership was a product of natural endowment. What did they mean by that? The Greeks believed that some people were born naturally endowed with certain distinguishing factors that made them superior to others. The Greeks believed that leadership is a product of birth traits. For example; the Greeks believed that, if you are born with a sharp nose, blond hair, blue eyes, light skin and thin lips, you are automatically a leader. You know, if that is true, then there’s no hope for you being a leader. Because you’ve got a big nose, your eyes ain’t blue, you have black hair, and your skin ain’t light– and the Greeks says; you are automatically born a slave. You have the wrong nose, the wrong eye, and the wrong hair.
The Greeks also believed that leadership is a product of providence. Providence is referring to the gods. As I said, the Greeks believed in many gods. And the Greeks believed that if the gods chose you to be a leader, then you were automatically superior to everyone else. But if the gods did not choose you to be a leader, then you are automatically a slave for the rest of your life. In other words, the gods choose leaders.
Now think about this;
So, if you were born with dark skin, brown eyes, a big nose, and thick lips, then the gods chose you to be a slave. That is what they believed; it was their philosophy. The Romans adopted this philosophy and made them their culture. And they told the slaves; you must be seen, but not heard. And you are only supposed to be seen when they need you.
Interestingly, the Romans have this philosophy. And then, they decided to expand their kingdoms. So, the French, the Spanish, the Portuguese, and the British sent their ships out. They are Romans in their minds, but Greeks in their thinking. And they came to take over territories, so they began to invade islands and continents. They came to the Caribbean, Africa, Central America, South America, they came to the Pacific, and they bought with them their philosophy. What is their philosophy? Greeks.
What does Greece teach?
They are superior, and you are inferior. Because your nose is big, your hair is not blond, and your eyes ain’t blue. So, the gods gave you to them as slaves.
Points to Ponder
So why educate a slave?
Why give a slave property?
Why give a slave authority?
Why give a slave a future?
Philosophy! And so, the story of colonisation. It is easy to sell slaves. After all, they are not chosen by the gods. And here we are, still under Demokratia.
200 years of conviction, that you are not equal to others.
200 years of miseducation that you cannot think comprehensively.
200 years of believing that others with certain traits are much superior and more intelligent and better than you. Philosophy! And so, they say you must be quiet- you cannot speak much.
Leadership problem….
Here is the biggest one; since you were chosen by the gods to be followers, why waste their time on you training you to be leaders? So, if you study all the colonies in history, the colonizes never trained leaders.
And what is amazing is when they finally abandon and leave you, they expect you to fail. That’s why they leave, – because they know you can’t lead, so your country will fail.
The Romans colonised all of Europe, from Africa to Scotland. Rome ruled the whole world from Africa all the way to England. It was the most powerful Empire and Kingdom in history. Rome was the first kingdom to colonize the whole world. No kingdom has ever arisen to be greater than Rome. It was the most successful colonisation process in history.
Our country is still battling with Greek ideas because every colonisation process carried the Greek idea.
Some of you know the Greek philosophers who changed the history of the world- let me give you a few other names;
Socrates
A powerful Greek thinker from Athens. Athens is the capital and the largest city of Greece. From (470-399) before the Birth of Christ (BC), he was credited as the founder of Western philosophy. The first moral philosopher of ethical tradition. Socrates never documented his life, but he was known for one instance: the Socratic problem.
In 399 BC, he went on trial for corrupting the minds of the youths in Athens and refusing to acknowledge their official gods. Remember I stated earlier that the Greeks believed in many gods– So Socrates was accused of impiety.
After his trial, which lasted for only a day, it is believed that he spent his last day in prison among friends and followers who offered him a route to escape, which he refused and died the next morning, in accordance with his sentence, after drinking poison hemlock.
Plato
Is also an Athenian philosopher and a very influential Greek thinker. He founded the first institution of higher learning in the Western world– the Platonist school of thought and the Academy.
Plato is the founder of western political philosophy and is cited as one of the founders of western Religion and Spirituality. He’s believed to have been born between (429 and 423) before the Birth of Christ (BC) – not long after the Peloponnesian war. Other chronicles also argue that Plato was born in the 88th Olympiad. He was born 200 years after Jeremiah was prophesized.
Aristotle
was a Greek philosopher and polymath (a person of wide knowledge or learning) during the classical period in Ancient Greece.
Taught by Plato, he founded the Peripatetic school of philosophy and the Aristotelian tradition. Aristotle is known to be the “father of logic”, “father of biology”, “father of political science”, “father of zoology”, “father of embryology”, “father of natural law”, “father of scientific method”, “father of rhetoric”, “father of psychology”, “father of realism”, “father of criticism”, “father of individualism”, “father of teleology” and “father of meteorology”.
Aristotle also taught Alexander the Great. He was born in 384 BC.
These are the kind of thinkers who gave their ideas that control our world today. It’s true, our countries today are ruled by dead men. How?
because they left their ideas with us. And ideas outlived humans.
