GOD’S ORIGINAL INTENT
God’s purpose for man…… I want us to analyze the intent of God based on theological historical records (the word of God) from the beginning. Let me also remind you of a couple of things;
Firstly, God’s original plan or purpose was never to have a Religion. This is more important for us to understand because religion has become more important than God.
As a matter of fact, mankind has been worshipping Religion more than we worship God. You’ll remember that Jesus himself when He came to earth, rebuked the Pharisees for making Religion more important than God. One of his statements made to them was this:
- He said, you have made your traditions more important than the laws of God. We have not been much different today. We’ve made Religion so important that, we have not even been interested in what God wants, we are more concerned about keeping our little religious rituals.
Secondly, I also want you to also remember that God’s plan for you was always rulership. This is basic to God. God never intended for you to be controlled or ruled by anybody. But His original passion was for you to be a ruler.
And the third point to remember as we address the subject of the kingdom is that your destiny is king-dominion. In other words, God always intended for, or His future for you is to be king over a domain.
It is sometimes sad to hear people with a misconception about God’s intended purpose for man. Over 90% of the people in the world live with this misconception; I have heard this often, people have said, that man was created to worship. And I don’t want to disagree with this concept but let’s be concerned with its practical application. There’s no record of Adam singing or worshiping in the Garden of Eden, yet God said, this is good (Genesis 1:31).
The fourth point to remember is that; the purpose of God is for Christ to restore His kingdom on earth. And that’s what God always wanted. In other words; the reason why God sent Christ for the first place is to restore this kingdom rulership that He always wanted. So, the work of Jesus, then, is the work of restoration.
The last point I want to make before we look at some theological records (scriptures) is that; because we’ve been created to rule and to dominate, then the number one purpose and passion in the heart of every man is power. Everybody wants power. And if you say you don’t; you’re telling a lie.
Now, how can I be so emphatic about that? Well, let me answer this way…
The passion for every bird is to fly. Every fish wants to swim. If you take a fish out of the water, it malfunctions. You take a bird out of the air and put it in a cage as a pet in your house; you get yourself an unhappy bird. And don’t believe, that bird is tamed; you let that bird out of the cage, it does what it is being late longing to do (all, is to fly).
What does a seed want to do? To become a tree- built for it.
So whatever God designs something to do, that is what it desires naturally. When God created you, He was clear as to why He created you.
He created man to have dominion, not to have singing sections, or to have rituals. He was very clear in Genesis 1:26 with His motives for you. He said: ‘I created you to have Dominion. Dominion means; to dominate, to control, to manage, to rule, to have power or authority over, etc. That means, built into every one of you is a natural desire to have power. But look at what I noted; to have power over what? Our environment – that is what we want.
The reason why you want power is that you are designed to be in power. You are a kingdom creature.
To be continued…
What is a Kingdom?
NB: A kingdom is not a religion.
